Well, here we are at the end of the summer vacation. I am a little torn. I have absolutely loved getting to be a "stay-at-home" mom. If we could afford it, I would stay home. But on the flip side, I am looking forward to starting another year and getting my brain back on math/problem solving and getting to know my new group of students.
Back to the girls. They have grown so much. In fact, my dad calls their legs the "Michelin" thighs b/c they are so plump. They have come a really long way from the skinny babies we brought home in December. Here are the latest stats on July 23:
Mylenn: 17 lbs and 15 oz and she was 26 1/2 inches
Soryn: 16 lbs and 14 oz and she was 26 1/4 inches
You can tell there is about a one pound difference but only a quarter of an inch in height difference. When you pick Mylenn up, you can tell a HUGE difference. My arms are getting a really good workout. :)
They are really starting to get mobile. In fact, I have to put them in their little exersausers (stationary play toys) to get any work done. I am anxious to see who will get the crawl down first. They have the right motions, but it is putting it all together.
The girls will be starting Lil' Elks Day Care next Monday. It is a day care service for Burleson ISD employees only. Which is really nice and I am really excited that we have such a great opportunity. The girls will only be 1.2 miles away and only a 4 min. drive. Yes, I have timed it. :)
We are gearing up for the Texas Tech football season and we have taught the girls to high five and put their arms up for a "touchdown red raiders." They don't quite have the arm motion down for the touchdown, but they can give you a high five most of the time.
The other thing is that the girls now have top teeth. Both girls have two top teeth. They are really enjoying their solids. The only food they seem to dislike is green beans. Everything else from acorn squash to sweet potatoes to peas they like. I am introducing blueberries this week.
Well, I promise to do a better job with my blog now that school is starting. I seem to be a better time manager when there is little time to do things. (Don't ask me why??)
~'Til Next Time.
